5 Quick Ways to Style Your Blowout

We love a great blowout but we know maintaining those waves and curls may become difficult after a few days at home (if you’re not a pro).  No need to plug up the blow dryer or flat-iron to extend your blowout.  Try one of these sexy looks to keep your style lasting.  All you need is a brush and/or comb, hair ties, and a sleeking product like edge control.

High Pony

A classic high ponytail is one style that never fails! The trick to making it as sleek as possible is to detangle and brush your hair towards your crown. Use your favorite gel, edge control or hairspray to hold it all down. The finishing touch is to take a strand of your hair and wrap it around the base of the pony, and then secure it with a bobby pin. This simple step brings your high pony to a whole other level!

Half Up - Half Down

This style can give you the perfect day or night look. Whether you're heading to brunch with your fellow #spacegals or grabbing dinner with that special one, the half up - half down style provides you the ease of having your hair pulled back and the lovely feeling and look of your hair down. The trick with the half up - half down is your part so don't be afraid to take the time to get it just right. Start from the top of your ear and go diagonally back until you reach the crown of your head. Similar to your ponytail look, we are also going to wrap a piece of hair around the base of the pony. Hold it all down with Headstrong and don't forget your Anti-Humidity Spray!

Low Pony

Our Space Gals have to go on missions and the best way to get ready for a busy jam packed adventure is to slick it all back in a low pony. Give a cute side part, swoop the front around, add in your favorite clips and accessories. A low pony can be dressed up and down in so many ways providing the perfect versatility for every woman while still showing off your gorgeous blowout!

Low Bun

You can easily switch up your low pony for a low bun! There are so many methods to get the best bun. Always start with a good base: detangled slicked low ponytail. You can use the donut bun method in which your hair wraps around your “donut” until it is all tucked away and the donut is hidden. This method can really help create a voluminous bun. Need a faster method? Simply twist your hair around itself and then around the base of the bun, secure with a hair tie or bobby pins. This is a perfect workout style too!

Top Knot

A fan favorite at Hair + Space is the top knot. When done right it can give you an amazing face lift! You will want to use the same technique to get your high ponytail to start your top knot. PRO TIP: leave some side pieces out to help frame your face. Pull from the corner next to the top of your ear or your two most front pieces. Then create your top knot by twisting your hair around itself to make a big bantu knot or use the same donut bun method from your low sleek bun. Secure with hair ties or bobby pins and embellish with any accessories!
